IMPACTS
Tabling at the Mushroom Market at Peabody Heights Brewery on 5/31 for Mushroom City Art Festival was an exciting day for us. We did not organize this event ourselves. It actually came through the wider web of community, as mushrooms are growing in popularity and the brewery wanted to host an event that would bring people out to their space. However, hosting Mushroom City since 2013 in Baltimore contributed in indirect ways to fostering this event that we got to be vendors at, instead of organizers. We sold homemade peanut butter lion's mane and chocolate reishi cookies in addition to cordyceps lemon balm tea to raise money for our festival and share information to get folks engaged as volunteers, artists & vendors. This event helped us spread the word about our festival. Many attendees at the Mushroom Market had never heard of Mushroom City Art Festival before, so it was exciting to share the news that Baltimore has its own mycology festival and that its been running for over 10 years! We were also also able to collect the emails of all the vendors who were at the event, so we can invite them to vend at Mushroom City on 10/25- how perfect! Last but not least, this was an excellent bonding experience for me, Sunny & Holly who are the organizers of this year's festival. There was a lot of deep connection this day with enthusiasm and excitement for the community that just keeps growing!!
