Purpose

Bloom's purpose is to help people find and participate in local regenerative actions and projects. In real life and virtually as a global collective, we support each others projects and passions to actualize our dreams for a better society.

Bloomers are a mix of artists, professionals, activists, government employees, people interested in more equitable futures, designers, culture hackers and more. Join Bloom to build authentic community where you live or contribute to a project that inspires you, with the support of a global network of talented people!

Bloom is governed as a cooperative of 30 active hubs in 11 countries and growing, working together as networks of volunteers and entrepreneurs, since 2008. Our business model routes revenue and grants to place-based communities who have the experience and rooted leadership to achieve permanent systems change.

Bloom's mission is to connect people, projects, and businesses to rapidly scale the reach and success of regenerative initiatives locally, bioregionally, and globally.

Our vision is a decentralized global governance system where power and money arises from collective efforts toward positive change, rather than from privilege or domination.

Social Network

Online, Bloom facilitates relationship building and resource sharing:

1) Place-based media feeds to find upcoming events, businesses, and actions you can participate in in your local community. We want you to be able to easily find people doing inspiring work where you live, and connect with them in real life.

2) LinkedIn-like profiles to facilitate skill sharing and gifts and needs matching. Alongside a marketplace for values-aligned products and service providers discovery.

3) Peer-to-peer incubator. Meet similar project leaders who might be farther along to help you accelerate your goals. Access staff-sharing from our global marketing and grants teams. Make the connections you need to be wildly successful.

4) Local Action Rewards. By participating in local actions, you are eligible to receive funds from our quarterly grants pool. Bloom's financial model is oriented around channeling capital to real communities on the ground for healthy cultures - literally the opposite of extractive media.

The nature topic includes food, agroforestry, climate adaptation, as well as innovative approaches such as using plants and fungi to clean up toxins in soil and water, and natural building materials that are more climate-friendly and healthy for humans.
