About Bloom Network
Bloom Network is a local-first social network where communities, changemakers, and funders connect to amplify inspiring solutions, share resources, and fund local transformation. Join 30,000+ members in 40 communities who are restoring watersheds, building local food systems, and creating cooperative economies.
We know it can be easier to find positive narratives that invite people to participate across differences to create beauty and well-being together. Join us in making that happen, together!
Our Ecosystem
Bloom Network connects three key stakeholder groups, all centered around Local Bloom chapters and coalitions:

Skilled Contributors
Professional volunteers: designers, developers, facilitators, storytellers, and more who contribute their expertise to community projects.
Impact Entrepreneurs
Zero-waste businesses, sustainable building, farmland trusts, co-housing, and other regenerative enterprises driving local economic transformation.
Philanthropists / Funders
Systems-change capital providers who invest in proven impact through our retroactive funding model.
At the center: Local Bloom Chapters / Coalitions — grassroots organizers, nonprofits, mutual aid groups, and businesses working together regionally.
Our Mission & Vision

This Isn't a Dream. It's Happening Now.
In 40 communities across 14 countries, Local Bloom chapters are already achieving remarkable transformations. Here's what they're doing:
🌊 Watershed Restoration
Texas Panhandle
Ogallala Life & Wildcat Bluff Discovery Center built over 280 leaky weirs to harvest stormwater and recharge the High Plains Aquifer, planted hundreds of native perennials to restore biodiversity, engaged 30+ volunteers, and educated 350+ community members through outdoor classroom experiences - creating a bioregional learning center that demonstrates landscape rehydration techniques.
🌱 Local Food Systems
Broadfield Enterprises, Uganda
Built a 5,000-farm cooperative, integrated permaculture into Uganda's national school curriculum, and created a complete end-to-end supply chain while training 100,000+ children in regenerative agriculture.
Los Higuerones Cooperativa, Costa Rica
Hosts farmers markets connecting 50+ people each, providing over 50% of household income to participating vendors, while circulating complementary currency to support local producers.
💚 Ecosystem & Culture Protection
Tribes and Nature's Defenders, Mindanao
Protected 500 hectares of rainforest with 20 forest guards, safeguarded 50 sacred caves through tribal monitoring, and benefited 300 tribal members while preserving cultural traditions in food, medicine, and forest care.
Rifai Sicilia, Italy
Planted 2,800+ trees (including olives, almonds, and native species), educated 100+ people on syntropic agroforestry and permaculture, and planted 5,000 aromatic cuttings to enhance biodiversity.
🏛️ Bioregional Economies
Diamante Bridge Collective, Costa Rica
Connected over 200 local projects and businesses for a watershed-protecting economy, hosting 1,000+ people for community events and cultural celebrations.
Earthist, Turkey
Established 4,272 acres of regenerative cotton plantation in semi-arid conditions, engaged 35 local farmers in soil health conversations, and cultivated 35 tons of hemp regeneratively while building soil health.
These are just a few examples from our network. Bloom Network has mobilized $325,000 into grassroots initiatives, documenting over 2,000 projects and 1,345 verified impacts across 40 communities. Every transformation started with people like you taking action where they live.
Bloom began in 2008, sparked by the Occupy Movement, Arab Spring, and visions from plant medicine experiences for the future of society. Before algorithms divided humanity, we gathered through in-person skill shares and deep dialogue - artists, business and community leaders, government workers, and visionaries united by a passion for thinking big and "doing it together".

How We Fund Communities: Retroactive Public Goods Funding
Bloom uses Retroactive Public Goods Funding (RetroPGF) - a revolutionary model that rewards proven impact rather than proposals. Unlike traditional philanthropy that requires lengthy grant applications, our regenerative economic protocol funds communities after they've demonstrated results on their own terms.

How It Works
- 1. Communities take action: Local Bloom hubs organize regenerative work—watershed restoration, food systems, ecosystem protection, and more.
- 2. Impact is documented: Communities write impact reports documenting their work and measurable outcomes.
- 3. Peer verification: Reviewers verify the reports to ensure accuracy and impact.
- 4. Rewards distributed: Funding is distributed quarterly to individuals and Local Bloom treasuries proportional to their contributions (measured in FLO tokens).
- 5. Goods & services exchanged: Funds circulate back into local economies, supporting more regenerative actions.
Proven Results
- • $15,600 distributed to 120 participants across 34 communities
- • 11,464 hours of regenerative work documented and compensated
- • $343,920 worth of labor rewarded at grassroots scale
- • $4 total fees for international payments (vs. $1,000+ with traditional banking)
Key Benefits
- • No grant applications required—the money follows the work
- • Rewards proven impact rather than promises
- • Transparent, blockchain-based tracking of all contributions
- • Low-cost global distribution enables international reach

Our Theory of Change
Bloom Network operates through five interconnected strategies to create systemic transformation:
Our Financial Goals
Bloom Network is raising $100M over the next 5–7 years to accelerate community-led climate adaptation and systems transformation worldwide, empowering local communities to lead regenerative change at scale.
Building on $320,000 raised to date and over two decades of grassroots organizing, we're now seeking major philanthropic partnerships to expand our proven models across regions and grow a global movement for regenerative living.
Our impact scales with each major contribution toward this goal - from strengthening our existing network at $10M to achieving global systems transformation at $100M.
What This Funding Will Accomplish
Activate Global Food Systems Transformation
Deploy expert teams across 100+ Local Bloom chapters to strengthen regional food systems, build missing middle infrastructure, and expand institutional purchasing from local farmers, in ways that achieve climate adaptation.
Scale Proven Community Enterprises
Strengthen and expand successful Local Bloom hubs that already demonstrate how regenerative businesses can thrive while serving community needs, modeling cooperative economic systems that circulate value within their regions.
Scale Watershed Restoration & Climate Adaptation
Implement community-led watershed repair, flood mitigation, and drought resilience projects across multiple bioregions - scaling proven models for climate adaptation rooted in local stewardship.
Amplify Solutions Through Strategic Marketing
Launch comprehensive marketing campaigns to make regenerative solutions visible and accessible across all sectors of society - accelerating climate adaptation by getting more people to know about, participate in, and support community-led transformation.
Why This Matters
Climate change, food insecurity, and economic inequality require solutions that move at the speed of community. In 40 communities across 14 countries, Local Bloom chapters are already demonstrating that place-based, cooperative approaches can achieve systems transformation - restoring watersheds, building local food systems, creating cooperative economies, and pioneering community-led governance.
We have the network, expertise, and proven models. With sustained investment, we can scale these proven models to hundreds more communities worldwide.
📘 Financial Stewardship
All use of funds are transparently reported through our regenerative economic protocol with public impact reporting on BloomNetwork.earth.
