We have been brainstorming on ways to share more of the local knowledge of the community. We have also been thinking of ways to bring more attendance to the Mercado Verde. We decided it would be educational and entertaining to have the different producers and community members share what they do, what they know and their history. This has sparked an interest for more community members to start sharing their gifts and stories. I have started compiling a list of names and offers to present different speeches and activities at the market. It was a bit uncomfortable for me to get started with organizing these charlas as well as the other activities. I am learning to be very clear on both ends what is expected and needed from the other. So far not staring on time has been a pattern. It seems that’s how things go here sometimes. It’s hard for me because I am used to being early and starting on time so I am learning to not stress out if someone is late. It is getting more fun over time to talk and learn what the producers would like to share. I feel this is a great addition to the Mercado Verde and opens the door for potential classes with Old School.
