Participating in the Action

Planting Date: 4 April 2024

Location Coordinates: 40°40'25.3"N 35°18'56.1"E

Seed Type: Heirloom Seeds

1. Soil Preparation

1.1. Soil Testing: Conducted to determine pH, nutrient levels, and soil structure. The pH was found to be 6.97.

1.2. Soil Improvement: Compost, natural fertilizer, and mycorrhizae were added to increase organic matter levels.

1.3. Weed Control: Performed by hand

2. Planting

2.1. Planting Time: Timed according to rainfall patterns with no frost danger present. (We weren't able to use the moon calendar for unexpected reasons)

2.2. Seed Quantity and Variety: Heirloom seeds were selected based on local climate, soil conditions, and production goals. The required seed quantity was calculated according to the area and row spacing.

2.3. Row Spacing and Seed Depth: Seed spacing was 13 cm and the row spacing was 45 cm. Seeds were planted at a depth of 2.5 cm

2.4. Sowing Method: Seeds were sown using machinery to ensure even distribution and optimal planting depth.

2.5. Irrigation System: We used sprinklers for irrigation. Although not the most efficient method, it was the most accessible and affordable option for this season.
